UM Sports*

 

For those of you that dont know what UM Sport is, it is the body behind each of the sporting codes offered here at Maastricht university.

 

UM SPORTS, part of Maastricht University's Student Services Centre, is the sports department of Maastricht University. It is a place where students, employees and alumni get together to work out for student-friendly prices. From Zumba and ClubPower to Frisbee and Capoeira - with more than 50 indoor- and outdoor sports to choose from, UM SPORTS offers something for everyone. All activities are offered in both English and Dutch, so everyone can join in.

 

The University Sports Centre (USC) is Maastricht University’s brand new sports facility. It is the central hub for all indoor sports activities at UM. The USC has been equipped with several sports halls and studios that can accommodate a wide range of group classes and team sports. Additionally, the new USC also has a 950 m2 gym, three squash courts and an 11 m climbing wall. But the USC is not just a place where you can go to work out. The ‘bring your own device’ learning spaces are a great place to study or do group work, and the Sports Café Time Out   is the place to be for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. The building also houses the UM SPORTS front desk and the offices of FysioStofberg  , Sports Council MUSST and UM SPORTS.

Student Sports Associations (SSA)

 

Maastricht has 26 student sports associations. To join one of these associations you need a Sports membership. However, your Sports membership does not include the separate membership fee of the student sports association you join. During the INKOM and the faculty introduction period you can get to know the associations. If you want to become a member outside this period then you should contact the association you are interested in.

 

Money Matters

 

There are however a number of financial matters to include. UM Sport requires all students that want to be part of an Assicciation or join any of the sports activities offered at by UM Sport to purchase a UM sports membership "sports".
